How do I become a member of Pillar?
Come along to a drop-in session to have a look round and meet some of the other members. You may want to take someone with you the first time you visit. You can arrange this in advance by calling 01224 642854 or 01224 621266. We will discuss your needs and tell you about the service we have on offer. You will be asked for some basic information and we will ask you to sign a membership form. This doesn’t have to done on your fist visit and the Pillar worker will discuss this with you.
What do I have to pay?
Membership of Pillar is free and the only thing to pay is £1.00 per day as a contribution to the service. Your first visit is free for you and for anyone accompanying you. Pillar members plan trips and activities that can be paid up over a few weeks.
What can I expect from Pillar?
You can expect to meet people who have also experienced difficulties with their mental health. Pillar strives to provide a safe and welcoming environment where you can come to discuss issues, join in activities and groups, get information about other services and resources, meet new friends and have fun!
You will also be able to attend the monthly members' meeting where you will be able to make suggestions and raise any general issues. Once you have got to know other members you may wish to apply to become a member rep on the Pillar Board.
