Pillar Aberdeen – Statement of Closure
It is with great sadness that we have to inform you that, as of the 29th of August 2010, Aberdeen City Council will discontinue funding Pillar Aberdeen and as a result, Pillar will close its doors after more than 30 years of delivering social support to people adversely affected by poor mental health.
Pillar Aberdeen is now in a position to remain open for drop-in sessions only, up to Friday 13th August 2010. This will now also be the date for the Member's Celebration Party .
After this date, a telephone support service will be provided during the times that normal drop-in sessions would have been available.
This service is for those in need of support and will run up to Sunday 29th August 2010, when Pillar's contract comes to an end and Pillar will officially close.
The closure is the result of a tendering process for a new service. The Council favoured a plan by Penumbra to provide the service and it is anticipated this will commence from 30th of August 2010.
This site has been created for you, the user, to access information not only about Pillar Aberdeen but also to provide you with mental health information and links to other mental health sites.
Its aim is to be as informative as possible, providing you with a background to Pillar, information on what support and services we offer to people along with keeping you up to date about our forthcoming events.
